Clavpod

Clavpod (Cefpodoxime/Potassium Clavulanate) is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial based infections. It works by targeting the bacteria and inhibiting its function, preventing further growth or strengthening.

Clavpod (Cefpodoxime/Potassium Clavulanate) is normally for a patient to dose twice a day, with 12 hour intervals. Dosing should usually be done with a meal of snack of some kind to aid absorption.

Always finish your full course of medication even if your infection appears cured. Infections can return stronger and more resistant to medication if they are not completely eliminated the first time, and will be harder to treat effectively.

Side effects of Clavpod (Cefpodoxime/Potassium Clavulanate) may include an upset stomach, nausea, diarrhea, gassiness, discomfort, irritation, or headaches. Report all side effects to your doctor, with urgency when they are persistent, worsening, or worrying you.

If you are using oral birth control pills, use an additional barrier-form of contraception whilst you take this medication, for example a diaphragm or condoms. You may also need to continue using a second contraception for some time after you stop taking Clavpod (Cefpodoxime/Potassium Clavulanate). Consult your doctor regarding this if it applies to you.
