Deflazen

Deflazen (Deflazacort) is classified as an anti-inflammatory glucocorticoid exhibiting immunosuppressant properties. Its mode of action is reducing inflammation and blocking autoimmune reactions which occur as a result of the immune system attacking the body. Some of the various indications for this medicine include the treatment of arthritis, asthma and certain types of allergies. It can also be used for skin disorders, medical conditions affecting the digestive system, blood disorders, eye problems and other illnesses affecting the organs. In certain cases, it has been used to cause the suppression of the immune system after an organ transplant, so as to prevent the rejection of the transplant.

Deflazen (Deflazacort) is provided as 6mg strength tablets which are taken by mouth. Your physician will conduct a thorough medical assessment of your symptoms so that a suitable dosage regimen can be decided upon. The tablets are to be swallowed whole alongside a glass of water. Patients will be given strict instructions by their physician relating to when it should be taken, and it is essential that it is administered at the correct times. Because many different disorders can be treated with this medicine, the dosage and frequency of administration can vary considerably. Therefore, individualization of the dosage schedule will be needed in all cases, and the physician may need to make adjustments from time to time.
