Pyracezine contains two different active ingredients - Piracetam and Cinnarizine.
Piracetam improves the metabolic processes in the brain by enhancing the energy and protein metabolism, accelerating the utilization of glucose by cells and increasing their resistance to hypoxia. It also improves interneuronal transmission in the CNS and regional blood flow in the ischemic area.
Cinnarizine inhibits the flow of calcium into red blood cells, increasing cell elasticity and flexibility which makes the blood less viscous. This allows the blood to travel more efficiently and effectively through the blood vessels.
By combining these two ingredients, each drug potentiates the other in boosting brain oxygen supply.
Pyracezine has clinical indications for acute and chronic cerebrovascular diseases, brain injury, inflammatory and/or infectious CNS diseases, labyrinthopathy, vertigo, motion sickness, dizziness, roaring in the ears, nystagmus, nausea and vomitting, Meniere`s syndrome, cerebral infarct, chronic hypertomnia with encephalopathy, vascular dementia, psychogenic memory disorders, attention and concentration disturbances and emotional lability.
Pyracezine also has a powerful nootropic effect to improve concentration, cognition and memory.
Each capsule of Pyracezine contains 400mg of piracetam and 25mg of cinnarizine. Pyracezine is sold as a pack of 60 capsules.
The recommended dosage for adults is one or two capsules, taken three times each day. It can be taken for up to three months depending on the severity of the disease.
Use with caution in cases of renal or liver impairment, and in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
False positives in sports doping tests may result from use.
Vasodilators and antihypertensive agents can increase the effects of Pyracezine.
