Arrow-Citalopram

Arrow-Citalopram (Citalopram Hydrobromide) acts directly in the brain to relieve depression symptoms. The active ingredient is classified as an antidepressant, or to be more specific, an SSRI (selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitor). Although its effects on dopamine and norepinephrine uptake are considered by experts to be minimal, it is believed to potentiate the activity of the neurotransmitter serotonin due to inhibiting its neuronal reuptake. This prevents the serotonin from being reabsorbed, and ensures that feelings of depression are relieved, as well as major depressive episodes. A considerable number of medical studies have taken place to assess its effectiveness in the treatment of premature ejaculation, a sexual disorder which affects many men.

Arrow-Citalopram (Citalopram Hydrobromide) tablets are to be used in strict accordance with your physician instructions. This particular formulation contains 20mg of medicine, and is taken orally. Following diagnosis, your physician may advise commencing treatment with a dosage of 20mg (one tablet) per day. A further evaluation will be conducted to assess your response to treatment, and your physician will decide whether to increase the dosage for maintenance treatment to 40mg per day, or to keep it at 20mg each day. In all cases, you will need to fully comply with all instructions given by the physician. Do not take more than your physician tells you to.

Treatment with the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor Arrow-Citalopram (Citalopram Hydrobromide) can sometimes cause side effects. You must make the physician aware of any reactions that occur. Examples include:

• Fatigue
• Weight changes
• Changes to libido
• Sneezing and a congested nose
• Impotence or delayed ejaculation

It is also important to be aware of the fact that other side effects not listed here may occur. Immediately call a physician if you are affected by sore eyes, blurry eyesight, muscular twitching, excessive perspiration, hallucinations or any other severe adverse events which have not been referenced here.

If you notice any signs indicating that your symptoms may be worsening while undergoing treatment with Arrow-Citalopram (Citalopram Hydrobromide) you should immediately consult your physician. These may include aggression, restlessness and suicidal thoughts.

A serious and dangerous drug reaction is possible if an MAO inhibitor (a type of medicine) has been administered in the previous 14 days, or if taken alongside this medicine. Your physician will require you to disclose all medicine you are currently taking, as well as those which have been taken recently. An MAO inhibitor must also not be taken for a certain period of time after you stop treatment with this antidepressant. Discuss this with your physician.
